Quantum technology

Quantum technology, which together with Einstein’s theory of relativity constitutes the theoretical basis of modern physics, is a next-generation technology based on quantum mechanics. Quantum is a unit of microscopic particles that constitutes energy and matter in the world smaller than atoms, and has special properties such as “having both the properties of both particles and waves" and "being able to exist in multiple positions at the same time". It is expected that computers and sensors with new concepts can be manufactured by making full use of this feature in the future.

Quantum mechanics revolutionized semiconductor and laser technology in the 20th. A second quantum revolution may follow accordingly. It is said that the U.S. and the European Union have started R & D projects with a huge amount of 100 billion yen.
